About the
soundtrack
The Sunderfolk soundtrack is an immersive orchestral score that brings to life the magical and dangerous world of the Sunderlands. Composed by Jonas Friedman, the 35-track album spans intimate village themes, exhilarating combat encounters, and a rich tapestry of themes and motifs that evolve as the story unfolds.
The score captures the game's dual identity, the warmth and humor of gathering around a table with friends alongside the real stakes that the townsfolk of Arden face. A recurring dark motif tied to the story's villain threads through multiple tracks across the campaign, interweaving with the Lifetree's uplifting theme as the narrative deepens, giving the score a symphonic cohesion that rewards attentive listeners from beginning to end.

The music was inspired by Sunderfolk's beautiful artwork and the world that Secret Door was building.
Each character had so much personality, and the overall story that unfolded as you worked your way through the campaign inspired different themes and motifs that shaped the tone of the entire soundtrack. I worked very closely with Chris Sigaty from Secret Door who is an incredibly talented and passionate producer heading up the studio. Together, we wanted the score to feel like the musical equivalent of what I feel like the game does so well, which is bringing people together through a world that's inviting and magical, but with real emotional stakes underneath.
